Senior Accountant, Residential Lending

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare all accounting entries related to assigned areas and ensure the accuracy of accounts and balances
• Prepare monthly variance explanations for significant fluctuations of actual vs. planned results and trend analyses.
• Assist in preparation of quarterly and year-end financial schedules and related footnotes with adherence to departmental deadlines
• Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations
• Make recommendations to improve existing processes
• Assist with special projects/requests as necessary

Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong organizational skills and ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines
• Must be detail oriented with good communication and interpersonal abilities
• Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word
• PeopleSoft experience is a plus
• Skilled in trend analysis and explanation
• Ability to adapt to and thrive in a fast-paced environment

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Masters preferred)
• CPA preferred or in process of completion
• 2 to 4 years in Public accounting preferred
