HRC Operations - Member Services Assistant

Position Information
 Job Title: Member Services Assistant

 Reports To: Assistant Director of Operations 
 Pay: $12.00/hour 
 

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Member 
Services Assistant at the Health and Recreation Center. The Member Services Assistant plays 
a crucial role in ensuring exceptional service to all patrons, including students, faculty, and staff. 
This position primarily involves front desk operations, membership management, and providing 
assistance to patrons regarding facility access, program information and inquiries. 
 

Job Roles & Responsibilities
 Greet and welcome patrons entering the Health and Recreation Center 
with a friendly and professional demeanor. 
 Provide accurate information to patrons regarding facility hours, programs, 
services, and membership options. 
 Process membership registrations, renewals, and cancellations efficiently 
and accurately using the designated software system. 
 Assist patrons with inquiries, concerns, and feedback, and escalate issues 
to appropriate staff members when necessary. 
 Monitor access to the facility, ensuring only authorized individuals enter 
according to membership guidelines and safety protocols. 
 Maintain a clean and organized front desk area. 
 Collaborate with other Health and Recreation Center staff to ensure 
seamless operations and exceptional customer service. 
 Provide administrative support, including answering phones and 
performing other office tasks as assigned. 
 

Qualifications 
 Must be currently enrolled as a degree-seeking student in good academic 
standing at Butler University 
 Previous customer service experience preferred 
 Ability to communicate and work effectively with others 
 Willing to work morning, afternoon, evening, weekend, and break hours as 
scheduled 
 Possess general knowledge of all Recreation and Wellness programs 
 

Certification & Trainings 
 American Red Cross CPR/AED/First-Aid Certification
