Summary
Regis College is actively seeking a Program Director for the Occupational Therapy Program in the School of Health Sciences to start in the fall of 2025. Program Directors are responsible for all aspects of program quality and student outcomes. The Program Director of the Occupational Therapy Program has primary responsibility for managing full-time and adjunct faculty in their programs; strengthening recruitment and retention for their programs; and leading the development, assessment, and articulation of the academic program through consultation with faculty and the School Dean. A passion for excellence with gentleness, a commitment to diversity, collaboration and innovation, and positive energy are fundamental to this position. This position includes administration of the program, teaching, scholarship, and service. Rank is commensurate with previous teaching experience, past scholarly achievement, and service.
Essential Functions
Academic Programs
- Provides leadership, vision, and advocacy for the faculty and students of the department, supporting the strategic goals of the University in all of the department’s programming decisions.
- Guides departmental strategic planning and curriculum development, collaborating as appropriate with other schools, departments, and deans.
- Oversees program assessment activities including ongoing monitoring of assessment activities throughout the academic year such as reviewing syllabi, suggesting program improvements, and preparing department annual reports with faculty members.
- Directs all aspects of the accreditation process for the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy.
- Develops and manages a program advisory board of alumni and community representatives, holding at least one meeting per year.
- Represents the program externally and identifies ways to engage with external constituencies.
- Oversees student recruitment, selection, evaluation, advisement, retention and professional development.
- Collaborates with the Dean of the School of Health Sciences and Assistant Dean for Health Sciences to ensure that all aspects of the OT program are in compliance with the mission and policies of the college
- Seeks additional funding sources through donations, grants, etc.
- Maintains assigned teaching load as negotiated with the Dean.
- Participates in faculty meetings and committees as appropriate and demonstrates positive interaction and participation within the community of Regis College.
Faculty Supervision
- Works to select, develop, and retain a diverse and high-performing team of full-time, half-time, and adjunct faculty.
- Regularly calls department meetings to maintain communication and involve faculty in decision-making.
- Mentors junior faculty in teaching, scholarship, and service to support their career goals.
- Conducts performance evaluations of full-time, half-time, and adjunct faculty and mentors faculty on an ongoing basis on their teaching, scholarship, and engagement.
- Supervises work assignments of program faculty.
- Supports the needs of adjunct faculty members in the department.
- Determines personnel, space, and equipment needs.
- Ensures the timely submission of grades, reports, and other information requested from faculty.
