The Premium Senior Accountant role is responsible for supporting the Team Leader/Director in execution all transaction processing related to Premium Accounting within NP East. The Lead role will provide supervision of transaction processing workflows and ensure work is completed timely and with minimal errors.  The role will be required to research inquiries, meet processing deadlines, and look for opportunities to improve department performance.

How You Will Contribute

  • Process/research transactions from received to disbursed;

  • Resolve account issues independently

  • Assist service operations with addressing issues;

  • Process and monitor accounts payable balances;

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cash reconciliations;

  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned;

  • Create ad hoc templates, reports, and analysis

  • Develop and implement accounting processes and procedures

  • Work with internal colleagues across the organization (IT, Processing, Reporting, Underwriting);

  • Perform and/or review month-end reconciliations and reporting;

  • Draw conclusions with the companies financial and business goals in mind

  • Work together with financial and accounting managers to optimize financial operations;

Skills & Experience to Be Successful

Required

  • 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance

  • Proven experience in similar role, with a strong focus on transaction understanding and analysis;

  • Strong analytical skills, with accuracy and attention to detail;

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills;

  • Ability to sort/mine large sets of data from multiple data sources to prepare analysis using appropriate tools (MS Excel) to identify trends/variances;

  • Strong attention to detail, demonstrated integrity, and professionalism;

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize a diverse portfolio of tasks while still consistently meeting deadlines;

  • Ability to communicate with different levels within an organization. Facilitate and coordinate multiple deadlines and respond quickly to executive requests; and

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience with Agency Management systems
