Position Summary:

Aleut Federal is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the execution of construction projects in remote Alaska and the Pacific Northwest. This role is responsible for overall project planning, administration, execution, client coordination, financial performance, and successful delivery of the work in accordance with contract requirements.

The Project Manager will work closely with the Regional Director, Superintendent, Site Safety and Health Officer, Quality Control Manager, subcontractors, suppliers, and Government stakeholders to ensure the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in full compliance with contract requirements.

Responsible for providing oversight and direct day-to-day management for assigned projects, team, contractors, and consultants.  Interface professionally with clients as a representative of the company. Ensure project completed in accordance with contract documents, within project durations, and within budget.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead all phases of project initiation and planning, including project setup, schedule development, subcontract scope development, technical writing, submittal preparation, project-specific plans, staffing, site access planning, badging, project phasing, and closeout planning.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor project budgets, including cost projections, risk analysis, cost controls, and overall financial performance.
  • Administer procurement and subcontract management activities, including contract review, subcontractor negotiations, scope development, agreement execution, reporting, and compliance with contract requirements.
  • Manage all aspects of project execution, including:
    • Design development and constructability reviews
    • Document control
    • Subcontractor coordination and management
    • Client and stakeholder communication
    • Contract deliverables and reporting
    • Site visits and project meetings
    • Change orders, equitable adjustments, and contract modifications
    • Cost-to-complete forecasting
    • Invoice management
    • Coordination with design professionals
  • Ensure compliance with Aleut's safety standards, project-specific safety requirements, OSHA regulations, and EM 385-1-1 standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with Government representatives, including the Contracting Officer and Resident Office staff.
  • Oversee project completion and closeout activities, including inspections, acceptance, record documentation, financial closeout, and final reporting.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop project team members through coaching, performance feedback, recognition, and corrective action in partnership with the HR Business Partner.
  • Maintain effective communication between executive leadership and project teams.
  • Manage all preconstruction and estimating activities, including:
    • Solicitation reviews
    • Quantity takeoffs
    • Cost estimating
    • Subcontractor pricing
    • Pre-bid RFIs
    • Proposal development and review
    • Conceptual scheduling
    • Project execution strategy
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients to support continued business growth.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously through various stages of design and construction.
  • Perform assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and company policies, regulations, and contractual requirements.
  • Conduct regular project site visits.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and business units to support successful project execution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Training:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Working knowledge of EM 385-1-1, OSHA regulations, and federal construction safety practices.

Preferred Certifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Microsoft Project Fundamentals and/or Advanced
  • OSHA 30-Hour
