Description
As Head of Global Payroll, you will lead the strategic design, implementation, and future administration of Verily’s global payroll, which will be migrated from our sister company, Google. You will manage vendors during the implementation and build a Verily team for post implementation payroll operations. You are a problem solver who seeks the opportunity to drive toward solutions.
This is a hybrid role with three days per week in-office. Possible locations of the role are Boston, Dallas, Raleigh, or South San Francisco.
Responsibilities
- Lead and drive the design, implementation, and administration of Verily’s global payroll structure, policies, systems and processes, in partnership with Finance, HR, Legal, IT and payroll consultants.
- Build the Verily payroll team to support future global payroll operations. Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance (including tax and global mobility) and reporting in each jurisdiction.
- Work closely with ADP managed services to ensure Verily is complying with local tax regulations, labor laws, and payroll-related legislation in various countries.
- Maintain accurate employee payroll data and facilitate the inbound and outbound integrations between payroll operations and Verily’s new HR information system, benefit programs, stock equity platform and accounting systems.
- Develop and lead vendor relationships and service-level quality related to payroll operations; this includes problem solving across processes, people, data, and technology, as well as auditing, and error resolution.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10+ years relevant work experience in payroll, including a mix of payroll implementation and payroll administration experience.
- 2+ years managing and growing a team.
- Working knowledge of US and non-US payroll taxes and garnishments.
- Exceptional problem solving skills and ability to exercise judgment and discretion.
- Ability to self-start and self-direct work; comfortable dealing with ambiguity and defining the agenda. High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. CCP Certification is a plus.
- Experience with ADP GlobalView, ADP Celergo, and ADP eTime.
- Experience with Workday HRIS and SAP Payroll is a plus.
- Experience with project management or change management.
- Strong communication; ability to influence others (stakeholders, vendors) and build relationships, allowing you to work collaboratively across multiple offices and vendors.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $155,000 - $246,000 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
