Time Type: Full timeWorker Type: EmployeeThis role will lead the data and capabilities for NAO, to deliver transformational, secure, efficient, scalable, high performing and reliable services, aligned to the needs of the business. In leading NAO’s Data Organization, this role will be responsible for creating and implementing the divisional data roadmap. The Divisional Head of Data will drive the innovation of data usage across QBE NA.This will be an 18-month assignment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provides strategic direction and practical application to leverage data assets and practically address business problems. Position NA Data strategy as an enabler of Business Strategy
- Responsible for the definition and implementation of NAO’s data roadmap
- Setting and assuring data standards and best practice for NAO
- Set direction for the continual improvement of the NAO data culture
- High degree of collaboration to understand business requirements and co-create data-driven solutions, continue to elevate data foundations and maturity and increasing usage of single-source of truth
- Implement and oversee Strategic Data Governance working with NAO EMB
- Define improved data processes, develop and implement a data quality framework and build data quality into the culture of the organization
- Optimize and govern the aggregation and productization of data across the company to better service clients, and the functions that serve our clients
- Leads efforts to analyze and derive actionable insights to inform decision-making and improve business performance across underwriting, pricing, claims, operations and other areas
- Improve competitive analytical business capabilities; foster analytical innovation and promote the sharing of analytics knowledge and best practices
- Build, develop and maintain strategic relationships, as well as define and acquire emerging technology and sciences by partnering and being active in the data and analytics market
- Create alignment between division and the global data & analytics strategy
- Partner with Global Data organization to ensure enterprise alignment in data activities across QBE
- Organize, engage and lead a team of best practitioners who have corporate-wide knowledge and experience, as well as a shared vision, roadmap and accountability
Required Education
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Required Experience
- 10+ years relevant experience
Preferred Competencies/Skills
- Exceptional stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills; Ability to operate and engage at all levels from executive and Board level to ensure alignment, to project teams responsible for execution.
- Ability to translate and collate strategic objectives from across the Division to from a single vision for data capability.
- Inspirational leadership; able to paint a clear compelling vision, engage and align internal and external stakeholders, and inspire team members to deliver expected outcomes.
- Ability to lead the function through significant forward-looking change
- Ability to switch seamlessly from the short to long term – able to ensure low risk, change managed delivery of major programs of work whilst plotting the future course of the data analytics that will help drive QBE’s strategy.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty
- Project Management skills (project planning and tracking; Issue identification and management; project status reporting
- Business process analysis skills – ability to analyze and document the current processes and organizations that create and manage the client data
