We are excited to offer a unique opportunity for a dynamic and growth-oriented individual to join our Central Division Leadership Team. The Central Division Proposal Manager provides overall leadership and direction of the business development support and marketing activities and functions for the Division. Activities include pursuit & capture planning, RFP analysis, proposal management and development, approach strategies, go-no-go decisions, and short-list presentations. The Central Division Proposal Manager oversees the proposal team and may be located in any of our Colorado, Utah, or Texas offices.
The ideal candidate has:
- Extensive experience working in close partnership with diverse technical teams in matrix work environment to create and/or reimagine storyboards, capture strategies/campaigns, win themes, graphics, collateral, proposals, presentations and other marketing materials.
- A "client service" mindset and solid business acumen with a demonstrated ability to communicate value in evolving formats encapsulating client “hot buttons” and Kleinfelder services and capabilities.
- A “strategic” mindset with an understanding of the competitive landscape in the A/E industry serving the energy, facilities, government, water and transportation markets.
- The flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and direction in a dynamic work environment.
- Excellent grasp of marketing fundamentals, visual communications, and knowledge of theoretical and practical developments in the A/E industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide leadership and mentoring to the proposal team.Manage the proposal team to develop content that effectively communicates the company's qualifications, approach, and value proposition.
- Assist Area Business Development Leaders, Client Account Managers, Kleinfelder Account Representatives, and Initiative Leaders in tracking and driving pursuits; from identification of opportunities, through proposal preparation, to winning and contracting the project pursuit.
- Manage, plan, and coordinate a variety of marketing activities to support Business Development activities involved in the preparation and writing of client account plans, marketing proposals, client interviews and presentations, post-mortem interviews, strategic planning processes, and/or other client-focused submittals in accordance with Kleinfelder’s brand standards and style guide.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the firm's strategic goals, key staff, significant projects, and target audiences to facilitate efficient proposal/pursuit efforts.
- Support large pursuits, including firm-wide qualifications, proposal, and presentation production, driving effectiveness across market segments, service lines, and regional efforts.
- Support Area Business Development Leaders as needed in pipeline/soft backlog data management (CRM, e.g. Deltek Vision).
- Support the collection, integration, and utilization of client feedback in client marketing planning.
- Manage leading indicators and business development efficiency reporting for Areas, Markets, and Service Lines in the Division.
- Support effective engagement with External Organizations such as ACEC, SWE, etc.
- Support consistent brand presentation (messaging & visual assets) across all external communication vehicles.
COMPETENCIES & SKILLS
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Must have a 'get it done' attitude and be proactive.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with high attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign.
- Technical writing experience.
- An ability to meet deadlines with competing priorities while managing multiple projects.
- Proficiency in preparation of SF 330 and UDOT/CDOT/TxDOT submittals a plus.
EXPERIENCE & ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum experience: 15+ years of related experience. Public affairs and technical writing experience a plus.
- Education: Bachelor’s degre
