Position Summary:

Manager-level role responsible for leading a cross-functional project in support of the organization's efforts to strengthen the employee value proposition. Individual will serve dual-role as workstream lead and project manager. Responsibilities include: program management, planning, stakeholder communication, execution lead, and coordination with third-party partners. Some travel expected.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Project lead for high-visibility cross-functional project. Support project Executive Sponsors and Steering Committee in defining initiative scope, identifying stakeholders and managing initiative tasks. Build project plan, schedule meetings, track action items, and engage with internal/external partners as needed.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.  This includes: writing up all project documentation, submitting progress reports to stakeholders and program managers; and setting the project standards and methodology to be used in alignment with company processes. Report and escalate to leadership as needed, in accordance with escalation protocols. Prepare materials for and facilitate leadership team project reviews as part of the operating model.
  • Create a working environment that allows everyone to work to the best of their abilities.
  • Successfully build relationships with all stakeholders. 
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required, with an emphasis in Business Administration, Engineering preferred.
  • 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment, managing projects or program leader with a proven record of successful implementations.   
  • Ability to travel 40% through North America is required.
  • Prior people leadership experience is a bonus.                  
  • PMP certification is a plus.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification a plus.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience with capital projects, process and continuous improvement projects, infrastructure and operational IT projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management toolset skills (e.g.: MS Project or equivalent).
  • Project & Portfolio Management (PPM) or Activity.
  • Management systems expertise and experience useful (but not required).
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.              
  • Sound business and financial acumen with strong understanding of operational cost factors /analysis. (ROI, IRR, ROTA, etc).
