A Day in the Life:
The VP of Global Ecommerce – will be accountable for the ecommerce CRM, and SEO content strategy. Along with conversion, P&L, and relationship management internally and externally for Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty. This role will be responsible for delivering sales/conversion through commercially driven strategies, online marketing, merchandising, user experience, SEO, content, product development, and site operations.
Responsible for delivering against the strategy and executing day-to-day online operations relating to ecommerce with oversight responsibility for operating metrics and key performance drivers such as conversion, qualified traffic and opt-ins, new renters, repeat renters, sales, AOV and units per order.
Leads the development of company's reimagined Hertz, Dollar & Thrifty loyalty and personalized marketing programs, guided by an insights-based, customer-centric approach and leveraging modern tools, technologies and processes to grow profitable revenue for Hertz, Dollar & Thrifty. The role will champion innovation and drive a digital-first mindset.
Works across various teams (Consumer Experience, Sales, Product) to create a branded online experience that is not only representative of the customer's offline experience but takes that engagement to the next level by anticipating the needs and exceeding the expectations of a multi-channel consumer. Interfaces with the product-related teams to understand upcoming product innovations, technologies and services so that they may be thoughtfully integrated into the online launch processes as they are unveiled to the marketplace.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee ecommerce business including merchandising, promotional strategy, and content management.
- Develop global ecommerce strategies to grow revenue, increase profitability and support the overall brand experience.
- Deliver business results and growth in areas such as paid media, email, CRM, site operations, UX, and analytics.
- Analyze key metrics to evaluate, optimize and benchmark performance, in partnership with cross-functional partners.
- Monitor daily performance and manage store resulting activities such as daily sales analysis, visual merchandising.
- Work closely with the Marketing & Communications team on effective online campaigns, digital marketing, and social media strategy.
- Keep up to date with evolving online media and technology trends in partnership with cross-functional partners.
- Coach and develop all team members; provide guidance on development and succession plans and career growth.
- Drive innovation through competitive assessment, market research and member engagement analysis..
- Manage and optimize franchisee engagement, interactions and communications to drive improved franchisee sentiment of the Hertz, Dollar & Thrifty loyalty programs.
- Lead cross-functional team projects across a broad set of stakeholders, clearly aligning on business and data needs, managing to aggressive timelines, and delivering results to deliver on program requirements.
- Develop and foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including managing requests and supporting franchised owners.
- Program Management, including leading cross-functional team initiatives, facilitating meetings, and providing key updates and presentations to senior leadership.
- Develop, optimize and communicate strategic program enhancements in line with the long-term strategic vision.
- Manage regular cadence of franchisee communications, including responding to questions, sharing program updates, highlighting the value the program brings to Franchisees, and any promotional opportunities to drive franchisee satisfaction with the program.
What We’re Looking For:
- 15+ years’ experience in retail, travel, hospitality with a focus on ecommerce, CRM , and direct promotion of e-commerce. Other industries acceptable.
- Undergraduate degree in marketing, business management or related / relevant field
- Master’s degree preferred but not required
- Working understanding of SEO/ASO and Organic Search
