Job Description
The Manager of Advanced Business Development at Stoneridge is a position responsible for driving profitable growth and long-term value creation aligned to the broader Stoneridge mission, vision, and objectives. The primary objective of this role is to drive growth in products and services not currently in the Stoneridge portfolio through the identification and creation of new partner, new product, and new market opportunities.
In this role, you will enable Stoneridge’s mission, vison, and objectives in collaboration with Advanced Engineering through the development and execution of advanced business development initiatives for new partnership or licensing, new supplier integration, and new product and technology activities. You will collaborate with Advanced Engineering, Product Line Management, and Sales & Marketing to integrate these advanced business development initiatives with customer-facing business development activities, ensuring cross-functional alignment and effective execution of advanced initiatives to drive growth.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Build strong cross-functional relationships and partner with colleagues to address product and systemic pain points that will deliver customer value and increase Stoneridge’s business impact while lowering total cost.
- Balance focus on flawless execution, systematic continuous improvement, and aggressive capability development to deliver quality results.
- Seek direct input from others, while still leading and owning the plans and results.
- Global Advanced Business Development for products and technologies not in the current portfolio:
- Conduct market research and analysis to monitor key industry trends, emerging value pools, and value chains, benchmark competitive landscape, identify emerging technologies, and assess growth opportunities.
- Assist in the formulation of strategic growth initiatives aligned to Stoneridge’s mission, vision, and objectives.
- Develop and nurture strategic relationships with organizations throughout the value chain to identify and generate new opportunities, including new partnerships, new licensing agreements, new supplier integrations, and new core technologies.
- Devise new business models and lead early-stage validation activities to de-risk investment decisions for new growth opportunities.
- Support the CTO and the Stoneridge Executive leadership team on Merger and Acquisition planning, target identification, and evaluation.
- Collaborate with Product Line Management and Sales & Marketing to align customer-facing business development activities, including customer engagement strategies, and user research initiatives.
- Technology Development & Innovation:
- Collaborate with Advanced Engineering on the design of new products and services not in the current portfolio through systems engineering processes, ensuring alignment of Discovery and Delivery.
- Collaborate with Product & Technology Strategy on product roadmaps and technical gap assessments to prioritize advanced business development targets, ensuring alignment with mid- and long-term business plans.
- Support the sourcing, evaluation, and negotiation of partnerships, building and nurturing strategic relationships to fill technology gaps and execute growth initiatives.
