POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Operations is responsible for the overall direction, execution, coordination, and evaluation of the assigned responsible programs and will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Essential Functions
- Consult on development and execution of annual revenue and cost plan for area.
- Partner with Home Office and Vice President of Operations to establish goals for meals per labor hour, food usage per meal and participation.
- Communicate and report out on weekly operations meeting comparing actual performance to budgeted goals for meals per labor hour, food usage per meal and participation.
- Monitor all areas for compliance with company programs and policies in the areas of Production Reports, Human Resources, Nutrition, Financial Reporting, Inventory Management, and Recipes and Production, in addition to state and federal regulations.
- Hire, onboard, direct, coordinate, evaluate, and develop all direct reports in the assigned areas while maintaining compliance with all labor regulations.
- Serve as a company ambassador in matters of employee and/or client conflict resolution.
- Plan and lead all training and operational meetings according to approved processes in the Monthly Leadership Agenda, as required by Opaa!
- Host weekly virtual operation meeting with direct reports.
- Observe and follow-up on Operation Checklists submitted by direct reports.
- Complete Operation Checklists during site visits, as needed.
- Conduct site visits a minimum of three days per week.
- Follow-up on any communication from the Home Office.
- Attend and actively participate in all leadership meetings, as required by Opaa!. Implement action items from leadership meeting.
- Prepare and deliver business presentations, as required.
- Attend Board of Education meetings when necessary to onboard new districts, assist in the renewal process, or as directed by the Supervisor.
- Communicate and report out on weekly operations meeting.
- Evaluate and make recommendations leading to strong client relationships and retention of accounts in assigned area.
- Actively partner with Home Office and participate in the bid process.
- Address performance issues and conflict in the workplace in an appropriate and timely manner. If issues arise, report concerns to the Supervisor. Follow and execute HR policies.
- Ensure compliance with Opaa! HR policies and procedures, and Federal Labor Laws to include, but not limited to performance reviews, talent assessments, timekeeping, payroll, background checks, I-9/E-Verify, hire/promotions/terminations/discipline processes, leaves of absence, employee relations, etc.
- Update Supervisor with any relevant information regarding the supported areas.
- All other duties as assigned by Opaa! Management.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, kneel, crawl, push, pull, grasp, feel, taste, smell, talk, hear, and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee must exert over 60 pounds of force occasionally and/or be able to frequently lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include concentrated attention, depth perception, ability to bring objects into sharp focus, color vision.
Working Conditions: Working conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
- Inside and outside working conditions.
- Frequently works around moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat.
- Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme cold.
- Noise level is usually loud.
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or equivalent experience.
