We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced and motivated Assistant Controller to join our finance team. In this newly created role, you will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of the company, including overseeing accounting activities, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, managing treasury functions, and driving improvements in our financial systems and processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, tax, and treasury, along with expertise in utilizing IFS and Chempax ERP systems (or good experience with system upgrades, process optimization and solid general ERP system fluency). You will have strong leadership potential – although there are currently no direct reports, that may change (you will help shape that) and this position has strong potential for future career growth.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
- Support the Controller in overseeing the day-to-day financial operations and reporting of the company.
- Drive preparation of consolidated financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, industry standards, and legal regulations.
Financial Systems Management:
- Collaborate with the Finance and IT Teams, cross-functional departments and external consultants to optimize the utilization of IFS and Chempax systems and to implement system upgrades, integrations, and customization to meet business requirements via a global priority project that is currently kicking off.
- Analyze use of IFS and Chempax systems and provide recommendations for enhancements on an ongoing basis and to develop and implement strategies to improve system performance, streamline processes, and enhance data integrity.
- Ensure compliance with system controls and security protocols.
- Provide oversight to company master data.
Tax Compliance:
- Lead collaboration with external tax advisors and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely preparation, review and filing of tax returns including income tax, sales tax, property tax and VAT.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and provide guidance to ensure compliance.
- Support tax planning initiatives and identify opportunities for tax savings.
Treasury Management:
- Manage cash flow, including forecasting, monitoring liquidity, and optimizing working capital.
- Oversee banking relationships, including the administration of banking activities and services.
- Develop and implement treasury policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and minimize risk.
Compliance and Audit Support:
- Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation to support audit and compliance activities.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA, CMA or equivalent certification is preferred but not required.
- Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance is desired but not required.
