That building relationships bit is important.</em></p> <p><em>You’ll be joining 3 other highly independent engineers plus a manual testing team. Together your mission is to support, encourage, motivate and guide the various development teams that make up the Security Solution’s team at Elastic. As the AI Testing lead, you’ll be tasked with spreading the knowledge and know-how of testing AI based features. You’ll be the go-to engineer that developers will consult with around tricky edge cases, hard to reproduce issues and will collaborate with them on writing test plans and thinking about how to approach automated tests. You will also be doing exploratory testing</em></p> <h2><strong><em>Your Role:</em></strong></h2> <p><em><strong>Champion Quality:</strong> Lead the charge in AI quality assurance across multiple development teams. This involves inspiring developers to prioritize quality, participating in planning sessions, coordinating test case creation with both developers and our manual testing team, and supporting sophisticated testing approaches to reinforce a culture where developers test their own work.</em><em><strong>Lead and Innovate:</strong> Stay abreast of emerging AI and QA trends, tools, and technologies to continually enhance the testing approach. Act as a liaison with internal AI/ML communities of practice to share knowledge, frameworks, and quality insights.</em><em><strong>Strategy Evaluation:</strong> Collaborate with multi-functional teams (data scientists, developers, product managers) to define comprehensive testing strategies for new AI capabilities.</em><em><strong>Promote Early Testing:</strong> Advocate for and enable a shift-left approach, integrating testing early in the development cycle through continuous integration and delivery.</em><em><strong>Multi-functional Collaboration:</strong> Work alongside various teams, guiding and mentoring others to adopt a quality-first attitude.</em></p> <h2><strong><em>What You'll Need:</em></strong></h2> <p><em>A belief in the value of diversity and a desire to work in a distributed team environment.</em><em>A software quality background (7 to 10 years) with experience as an developer or QA engineer, with a passion for enhancing developer productivity.</em><em>An excitement for working with teams to iteratively create quality workflows and processes that build trust and efficiency into the dev cycles.</em><em>Experience working with sophisticated, complex software with high quality over many years.</em><em>Strong programming skills in Typescript or other scripting languages. Experience with Node.js and React a plus.</em><em>Hands on experience with automation tools.
