POSITION SUMMARY
Manages the operations and activities of the Safety, Security and Control Center Training Programs team within the Training and Workforce Development's (TWD) Training and Instruction department in providing strategic support to all stakeholder departments throughout the Authority. Implements departmental strategic objectives and develops and provides direction and content for employee training programs, specific to safety, security and Control Center training, consistent with department and Authority goals and objectives.
Qualifications
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Management oversight of the training programs developed and administered by the Training & Instruction department's Safety, Security and Control Center Training team.
o Oversees the facilitation of Safety, Security and Control Center training programs as regulated by the Authority, in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and other city, state and federal regulatory agencies.
o Confers with Authority management to determine training initiatives, analyzes training needs, sets objectives and assesses the overall effectiveness of training efforts.
o Ensures that training programs and publications are in compliance with safety standards and regulatory laws/standards/procedures set by OSHA, city ordinances, state and federal agencies, or by government legislation.
o Responsible for ensuring Train-the-Trainer sessions are conducted when new programs are implemented or to improve teaching techniques for internal staff.
• Works closely with the Safety, Security and Control Center departments and ensures all Control Center, safety and security trainings are conducted and aligned with the Authority's Safety Management System (SMS).
• Keeps abreast of and reviews industry best practices in safety, security and Control Center operations training programs and integrates findings into instruction content, delivery and management strategies.
o Maintains knowledge of training development, instructional design, adult learning and expertise in operations in OSHA safety regulations, serving in a consultant capacity to client department and members of the Training & Instruction department.
o Maintains certifications to train on all of the various trainings offered by the Safety, Security and Control Center Training team, to include but not be limited to the following: OSHA 10 hour and 30 hour (general industry and construction), Fall Protection, Environmental Awareness, forklift operator, confined space and various Control Center trainings.
o Performs periodic quality assurance checks to measures training program outcomes and initiates post-training review.
