About the Job

The Automation Engineer is responsible for building the automation for and helping release our Platform, Web, and Mobile apps to tens of millions of users. They will also work closely with our Architecture team to deliver internal SDKs. This position ensures our releases go out on time and with high quality. 

This position will work closely with teams in the USA, India, and EMEA. 

The salary range for this position is $130,500 to $200,000. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary- therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.

What You’ll Do

  • Build automation to make the software release processes go smoother
  • Identify manual steps that can be automated and work with various teams to build said automation
  • Enhance Developer Experience by simplifying existing Build and Code Promotion processes.
  • Conceive and build, tools that make developers efficient and push high-quality code
  • Work on home-grown frameworks and enhancements
  • Investigate better tools and patterns to improve developer velocity for build, test, and release tasks.
  • Ensures that automation is efficient, scalable, maintainable, extensible, robust, and easy to understand.
  • Work on monitoring, alerting, and observability for our build and test infrastructure.
  • Assist in developing user guides and training documentation for systems, tools, and processes used.
  • Plan and perform ongoing routine application maintenance tasks.
  • Drive coordination among engineering teams and stakeholders and align all groups toward high-quality releases throughout the entire fast-paced release lifecycle
  • Identify release quality criteria, track these as team KPIs, and drive to improve them
  • Streamline the upload and release mechanisms for the mobile app releases
  • Maintain documentation for build and release processes
  • Helps if you embrace the idea of developing solutions to improve the lives of people around you.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of experience in automation and building tools
  • Advanced knowledge of the software development lifecycle
  • Expertise with Jenkins, Jira, git, Buildkite, and merge tools
  • Process-oriented and organized
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in Python, Ruby
  • Experience building tooling that integrates various tools like Jira, Confluence, Slack, GitHub, etc.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with Fastlane, bash
  • Experience in build engineering with tools like Jira, GitHub,
  • Strong experience with DevOps practices
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
