POSITION SUMMARY:                                  

Advanced Energy has an opening within the SEC reporting and technical accounting team. In this role, you will be focused on the company’s external financial reporting and technical accounting matters. This position ensures compliance with US GAAP, corporate policies and procedures, and common ethical practices.  This is a detail-oriented and hands-on position that requires the individual to be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with effective communication.  The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills; demonstrated successful organizational and time management skills; problem solving abilities; and international business acumen. While this role will be focused on financial reporting, it will also be involved in other areas of accounting, such as month-end close, addressing technical accounting issues or implementation of new accounting pronouncements.

 

In this role you will have significant exposure to the executive leadership team, ability to manage and transform the reporting process and become a leader within the Accounting Department.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparation of 10-Q, 10-K and other SEC filings including financial statements, footnote disclosures and MD&A
  • Support preparation and tie-outs of public filings, such as proxy statements and 8-Ks
  • Work with other teams including FP&A, investor relations and senior leadership regarding financial reporting related deliverables
  • Maintain internal control over financial reporting for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and support the internal and external audit teams’ requests
  • Assist with research, and interpretation of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements on accounting issues and new accounting guidance
  • Prepare technical accounting memos and analysis as needed
  • Assist with special projects and ad-hoc requests (month-end close, M&A due diligence, post-acquisitions integrations, ERP conversion)'

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Location: Denver, CO
  • Standard Office environment, on-site

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Vlookps, Xlookups, and Pivot tables
  • Proficient in other Microsoft applications including Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to analyze and provide reports and communications to higher level management about the specific areas of responsibility
  • Detailed oriented and task driven to meet deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task and complete the tasks necessary to accurately present the financial condition and results of operations of the company

 

EXPERIENCE:

Essential                               

  • 3-7 years of experience in accounting or a related field
  • Dependent on experience, role level can be catered to the candidate

 

Desirable

  • Audit experience with a public accounting firm or accounting and financial reporting experience
