Our Organization and Mission: The Office represents the State of Florida in state and federal civil and criminal courts, from trial courts to the Supreme Court of the United States. 

 

Position Summary: This position is in the Office of the Attorney General within the Human Resources Administrative Department in Tallahassee, Florida.

 

Pay: $45,000.02 Annually

 

Qualifications: 

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of professional personnel experience.
  • A master's degree from an accredited college or university in business, public administration, communications, education or one of the social or behavioral sciences can substitute for one year of the required experience.
  • Professional or nonprofessional personnel experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

 

Preferred Qualifications with weight:

  • Experience managing or coordinating accounts with the Florida Retirement System plans and the State of Florida leave and attendance rules and regulations.
  • Intermediate skill level or higher with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Basic skill level or higher with Microsoft Access.
  • Working knowledge of Florida Statutes Chapters 110, 112, 115, 119, 120, 121, and 122.
  • Experience with State of Florida Human Resources.

 

The Work You Will Do: This position is directly responsible for assisting employees of the Office of the Attorney General. Under the general supervision of the Senior Personnel Manager, the incumbent in this position must have extensive knowledge of personnel administration to include familiarity with personnel rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and procedures. Additionally, this individual is responsible for assisting with the overall management of attendance and leave and retirement benefits. Performs human resources duties in accordance with Section 447.203, Florida Statutes.

 

40% - Serves as the Attendance & Leave Coordinator and Subject Matter Expert for the agency. Oversees and administers the Agency's attendance and leave functions. Ensures that all attendance and leave processes employed by the Agency comply with applicable state and federal laws and regulations including, but not limited to, overtime, leave without pay, variable work schedules, on- call, and mid-period changes. Conducts regular audits to ensure that leave and leave without pay are properly accounted for and correctly recorded and processes adjustments, when necessary. Ensures that attendance and leave files are maintained in accordance with applicable retention schedules. Provides technical assistance to employees on attendance and leave-related matters.

 

Creates leave audits for separating employees and employees entering DROP. Reports all leave payments to FRS. Processes leave payments in the People First system. Completes any Deferred Compensation rollover forms relating to leave payouts. Responds to leave payout questions employees or other agencies may have. Verifies attendance and leave corrections and notifies office in a timely fashion upon completion or correction. Verifies prior state service for determining leave accrual rates.
