About the role
Job Description / Duties / Responsibilities:
- Meet or exceed the company and customer safety standards.
- Leadership skills in Engineering with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills (both verbal and written).
- Understanding of Project business case and reflect this in the work environment such as productivity, schedule, workhour control, innovation etc.
- Should have involvement in development and implementation of activities such as the latest technology and methods to improve efficiency, accuracy and productivity.
- Takes personal responsibility for safety and a healthy environment on the projects – and demonstrating this by example.
- Predictability & control: Ensures work is carried out competently and effectively within schedule, budget, quality and that project objectives are met.
- Maintains effective communication with project team members, customer and all interfaces.
- Ensures integrity of work scope and that work is carried out in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
- Is able to produce man-hour and schedule estimates.
- Pro-actively identifies issues that impede project progress and reports to Project Management.
- High level of Safety Awareness.
- Activities in the following areas (design and calculations as required):
- New and existing underground sewers, pipelines, sumps, etc.
- Familiar with soil investigation reports, railroad specifications and roadway requirements.
- Tank farm design – trench, sump, slab, wall, footer, sheet piling, helical coil/piling, etc.
- Process equipment design – chairs, saddle loading, anchor bolt design/loading, etc. – existing, upgrades and new installations.
- Structural design for towers, buildings, pipe racks (cable trays), etc.
- Infrastructure studies – pipe racks, cranes & monorails, foundation capacity, etc.
- Other areas of design – dynamic loading, natural frequency & resonance, etc.
- A BS or MS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with proven leadership experience.
- 10-20 years of related experience in Civil-Structural Engineering (Concrete, Foundations and Steel Structures).
- 5+ years of experience in the Petrochemical Industry.
- Professional Engineer license (P.E.).
- Competent in RISA-3D and RISAFoundation.
- Working knowledge of detailed engineering contractor 3D software/tools and AutoCAD.
- The ability to keep information confidential.
Additional Desired Skills / Qualifications:
- Excellent computer and organizational skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
