JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Dispatch outbound loads to company stores in prescribed time frames. Assign loads and backhauls to drivers in the most logical and efficient manner. Plan manpower and equipment utilization for most efficient operation. Maintain strong communication on loads among all work sites.

This role is 4 days a week and 10 hour shifts. The shift we are filling is an overnight shift Wednesday's-Saturday's, 9pm-7am (days may vary as needed).

This role is located at our transportation offices in Kinloch, Missouri.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Dispatch loads, including specials, transfers and mis-ships, to drivers to maintain on time deliveries using dispatch software system.

  • Plan manpower and equipment needed to maintain service to stores. Call for overtime or third party drivers as needed and per collective bargaining agreement to maintain service levels.

  • Provide routing for three warehouse sites

  • Communicate with stores and warehouses regarding deliveries, including problems or late deliveries.

  • Assist with maintaining correct data in ELD system for DOT reporting

  • Recommend disciplinary action to management for drivers that violate company policy

  • Performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Required Education: Associate’s degree/Junior college, equivalent experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.

  • Minimum Years of Experience: 1 to 3 years experience working in a Schnucks store, in logistics, or distribution setting is required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of current DOT regulations.

  • Familiarity with the St Louis metro area and locations of stores and backhauls.

  • Knowledge of computer-aided dispatch systems, multi-line phones and radio equipment.

Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent verbal communication skills.

  • Strong Microsoft Office and Google Workspace skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and noisy environment.

  • Proficiency in data entry accuracy.

  • Ability to prioritize when faced with multiple tasks

Work Environment

  • 10 hour work days, 4 days each week in a busy 24/7 operation. Will work overtime to fill vacations and illnesses and the ability to work holidays.

  • Store/Facility Teammates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred.
