Key Responsibilities
- The Assistant Principal - Curriculum will have overall responsibility for the performance of across the FE Curriculum, comprising the curriculum areas of Engineering, Automotive, Building Services, Construction, Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy and Media Make Up, Health and Social Care, Childcare, Sport, Business, Creative Media, Creative Arts, English, Maths, ESOL, Science, Foundation Studies and Thornton College.
- Drive forward the development and implementation of robust quality assurance and enhancement activity to ensure consistently high quality and standards across all curriculum delivery areas within the FE curriculum.
- Provide outstanding strategic and operational leadership and management of all directorates within the FE curriculum to ensure the development of relevant and sustainable curriculum pathways which meet the needs of employers/stakeholders and address local, regional and national skill needs.
- As a member of the College’s Senior Leadership Team, ensure delivery of the College’s strategic plan and achieve/exceed all agreed key performance indicators.
- Lead and support the team of Directors of Curriculum to deliver consistently high levels of performance employing a leadership style which promotes and aligns with the College values of excellence, accountability and integrity.
Essential Criteria
- A degree or equivalent
- A Cert Ed or equivalent
- Level 2 English and Maths qualifications (or equivalent)
- Evidence of continued professional development.
- Considerable experience of effectively managing a team.
- Experience of successfully meeting audit/inspection requirements and responding effectively to recommendations.
- Outstanding record of leading/delivering high quality teaching and learning.
- Demonstrable success in achieving challenging performance targets relating to student recruitment outcomes.
- Track record of success in initiating and managing change
- Evidence of a commitment to excellence in quality assurance and customer satisfaction
