Director of Curriculum Instruction and Assessment

QUALIFICATIONS

• Three (3) years of experience in multiple areas of public education necessary, including elementary or secondary school instruction
• Master's degree necessary.
• Proper Pennsylvania administrative certification.
• Experience with curriculum mapping, best PK-12 instructional practices and assessments preferred.
• All pre-employment requisites as deemed necessary.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

JOB GOAL

Supervise and coordinate the District's curriculum, instruction and assessments programs working with other administrators, building principals, assistant principals and Intermediate Unit personnel on curriculum updates, staff development, selection of instructional material and supplies, resources necessary for effective instruction.
 
 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assist the Superintendent in establishing, for the District, educational goals that will foster instructional excellence and will maintain compliance with requirements of the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
• Oversee the process of curriculum development, implementation and evaluation.
• Report regularly to the school board of directors on curricular matters.
• Advise and inform the Superintendent concerning recommended changes in the District's educational program.
• Provide leadership in developing a continuous program for curriculum refinement and development through effective in-service education activities.
• Evaluate requests and make recommendations concerning the attendance of professional personnel at meetings, in-service training programs, workshops, conferences and conventions.
• Identify professional development needs of staff and coordinate in service training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge, as well as incorporating all state and federally mandated training requirements.
• Aid in the procurement, administration and implementation of instructional programs funded through the federal grant programs
• Oversee the preparation, submission and reporting of grant proposals for district staff.
• Oversee the selection process, administration and the reporting of results from district-wide testing and assessment programs, which is designed to measure the effectiveness of the educational program.
• Assist the Superintendent with the strategic planning process and ensure compliance of requirements from the District and the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
• Serve as the Liaison for the Instructional ESL/ELL district program.
• Oversee the Homeschool program in alignment with the Pennsylvania Department of Education requirements.
• Coordinate the New Teacher Induction program.
• Coordinate Department meetings
• Coordinate the Act 48 Professional Development Committee.
• Serve as the District Assessment Coordinator (DAC).
• Coordinate the GVA and CAOLA instructional programs (virtual education).
• Assist with budgeting for instructional technology, textbooks and consumable materials.
• Approve and track Employee Tuition Reimbursement requests.
• Regular and timely attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
