Together as one entity, we are now the nation's largest equity-focused professional learning organization. We provide evidence-based, comprehensive instructional and curriculum support to educators and school system leaders in over 40 states nationwide.

UnboundEd empowers educators to transform teaching and learning. We work with classroom teachers, school leaders, and district executives to ensure engaging, affirming and meaningful grade-level instruction so that we eliminate the predictability of student outcomes by race and socioeconomic status. We focus on the needs of students of color and those who have historically been at the margins because when we do that, all students benefit.

ROLE SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director, Literacy Projects, the Manager, Literacy Projects supports our team to ensure that UnboundEd/CORE delivers exceptional educator professional learning programs and services to school systems nationwide. The Manager, Literacy Projects works with the Director, Literacy Projects, to oversee the design and implementation of a professional learning experience for partner schools and to build strong relationships with district and school leadership to ensure that a district’s/school’s experience with our programs and services are cohesive. The Manager, Literacy Projects will also liaise with district and school partners and other content providers and partners for grant-related reporting and requests, specifically for a multi-year US Department of Education funded project - Reading Reimagined  (link to abstract here).

UnboundEd is a virtual organization and this employee can be based anywhere in the United States. UnboundEd has core business hours where we expect all staff to be available from 9 am to 5 pm local time and up to 25% travel is required.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

Project Development & Management: Lead the development of professional learning for Reading Reimagined 

• Manage the development of a cohesive professional learning experience for client schools that covers literacy and language foundations, language variation and style shifting to prepare teachers to provide differentiated instruction designed to help students who speak African-American English to “style shift” between African-American and General American English (GAE).
• Develop agenda and training sessions, including preparing for, facilitating, and following up from professional learning events, small group and 1:1 work sessions with clients and partners
• Oversee the day-to-day project operations, including creating and managing a project plan and tracking project goals and outcomes
• Facilitate professional learning and training to consultants and clients as needed

Management of Client Engagements: Support and lead  scopes of work for assigned clients

• Serve as the liaison to district and school leaders and communicate before, during, and after delivery of services to verify services, provide quality assurance of services, address concerns and recommend additional and future services 
• Conduct observations of assigned clients during training and/or on‐site work engagements and opportunities
• Provide direct services as assigned to designated clients as well as training to consultants as needed
• Represent and promote CORE and UnboundEd at conferences, trade shows and other events as requested

Grant Management: Ensure the successful completion of grant-funded projects, specifically Reading Reimagined

• In partnership with the development team, manage the project lifecycle to complete all grant deliverables successfully
• Track, collect and review documentation of grant-related activities
• Attend meetings with the grant program officers and other funder‐led meetings as needed

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in education leadership, teacher education development, or a related field; Master’s degree highly preferred 
• A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in K-12 education, including at least two (2) years working at a system level in a district or charter management organization or similar system-level experience
