About the role

Working independently and exercising good judgment and discretion, the student worker will perform tasks assigned by the faculty.

Summary of position: The student worker will report to the Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship, under the leadership of the Executive Director. You will be provided with a dedicated workspace outside the Center Director’s office. This role will encompass a variety of tasks that will allow the student worker to grow and learn in many areas that support entrepreneurial efforts. The position will run from August–May with the possibility of renewal based on performance and budget. Flexible scheduling available during business hours (M–F, 8:30am–5:00pm), tailored to class schedule and center needs. The student worker is encouraged to contribute ideas, input, and suggestions for C4E growth. Preferred majors: Entrepreneurship, Business, Marketing, Strategic Communications, Event Planning, or related business fields.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Event Planning

  • Work with Center Director to determine semester schedule of events to include speakers, dates, topics
  • Coordinate room bookings
  • Set up and tear down (food management)
  • Direct supporting teams and provide required information (for any student assistants)
  • Draft event layouts
  • Gather media content for future promotions (capture footage for social media recaps)
  • Prepare slide decks (speaker photos, bios, any additional content needed)
  • Events to include:
    • Side Hustle Expo
    • Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Workshop
    • Heart & Hustle Speaker series
    • Brunch n Learns
    • Mall Kiosk Program
    • CreateFest & Spark Tank!
    • Others as needed or developed
  • Other Duties as Assigned

Marketing

  • Designing TV slides prior to all events (sent to SOB admin team) using Canva/PowerPoint
  • Creating and posting on social media channels to include Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn
  • Drafting and sending mass emails and newsletters (managing C4E inbox) through Outlook
  • Convo announcement submissions
  • Establish event wording and brand guide
  • Creating event materials as needed for print (foams boards, flyers) using Canva
  • Other Duties as Assigned

Administration

  • Creating and managing forms (Microsoft Teams)
  • Managing email communications through the C4E Outlook inbox
  • Recording data (i.e., social media statistics, number of attendees)
  • Keeping budget details
  • Organizing media files
  • Writing event participant contracts (i.e., Side Hustle Expo participant contract)
  • Prepare/write Thank you cards & gifts for guests
  • Other Duties as Assigned
