Job Description:

We are seeking a Sr. Infrastructure Engineer to lead a new software development team in Threat Hunting Services at Zscaler. In this role, you will drive the development of data and threat hunting platforms for identifying, classifying, and detecting security incidents in all Zscaler products. Your responsibilities will include designing, coding, and maintaining innovative data platforms, as well as coaching junior team members on development best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the long-term vision for the team's engineering platforms, including vulnerability scanning, data transport and analytics, and business intelligence.
• Lead the design and implementation of distributed software platforms for continuous assessment of threats and vulnerabilities across Zscaler software and hardware assets.
• Maintain a high bar for engineering excellence to ensure 24/7 availability in a full DevOps model.
• Collaborate with product management and distributed systems engineering teams to complete large-scale projects.
• Operate in an Agile development environment.
• Support the team's engineering excellence through code reviews and mentoring.
• Foster a strong team culture

Requirements:

- Robust use of AWS services to support teams deploying all manner of software in the cloud.

- AWS infrastructure deployment using Terraform.

- CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance using Atlassian Bamboo.

- Operation of mission critical database systems (both relational and non-relational).

- Linux scripting experience (bash shell).

- Containerization (Docker) experience on AWS Elastic Container Service.

- Intermediate to expert understanding of common Internet protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, HTTP, TLS, QUIC, etc).

- Ability to plan network topologies and security requirements for IPv4 networks in AWS.

- Use of Git for source control.

- Use of Python for automation purposes, specifically in cloud environments.

 

Preferred / Nice to Have:

- Go (sometimes called Golang) experience, specifically building REST APIs, network services, command line utilities, and Go modules.

- Use of AWS Lambda, Eventbridge, and/or Batch.

- REST API integration experience using a variety of third party services (not specialization in just one, like Salesforce).

- Integration experience using Salesforce APIs.

- Familiarity with common penetration testing and security analysis tools.

- Past experience assisting teams with SOC2 compliance.

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range$112,000—$160,000 USD
