Job Description:

At Regions, the Database Administrator analyzes, designs, creates, and implements databases including access methods, device allocations, validating checks, organization, and security.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Designs data models and physical databases, data dictionaries, and schemas

  • Executes the installation, upgrades and tests of database software’s

  • Develops and implements strategic database recovery plans and procedures

  • Troubleshoots and resolves database issues effectively

  • Monitors database environment to ensure ongoing efficiency

  • Researches new technologies and advises  senior leadership on the changing environment

  • Prioritizes customer service and interpersonal relationships

  • Acts as the Subject Matter Expert (SME)

  • Manages and coordinates multiple projects

  • Partners across Technology, Operations, Digital, and Data (TODD) to ensure controls are designed, implemented, and monitored to strengthen risk management, compliance, and cyber security, effectively mitigating risk to levels within the company’s risk appetite 

  • Practices disciplined change management by evaluating risk and control impacts when designing or implementing changes to processes, systems, products, and/or services and ensures appropriate updates to procedures, training, and controls are made accordingly 

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science

  • Or High School Diploma/GED with completion of a technical training program in web programming language

  • Nine (9) years of experience in Computer Science or related field

  • Understanding of relational database model

Additional Job Description

  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including writing and maintaining complex T‑SQL queries and stored procedures. Responsibilities include debugging existing code, optimizing queries through performance tuning, and supporting data integration and reporting solutions using SSIS and SSRS.

  • Working knowledge of C# development.

  • Preferably some hands‑on experience with Snowflake, supporting data warehouse and/or data lake architectures.

  • Nice to Have: Experience with source control and DevOps automation, including repository management and CI/CD pipelines. Exposure to Harness for deployments and GitHub Actions for build automation is a strong plus.

  • Nice to Have: Experience designing and building APIs.
