Senior Manager, Strategy & Communication, Talent & Learning

The Sr. Manager, Strategy & Communication, is responsible for connecting Talent and Learning’s vision to a clear strategy and roadmap—driving impact where it matters most—while also creating a simpler, more engaging learning and career experience for employees at HP.

The role reports directly to the SVP, Talent & Learning, and partners closely with senior People Leaders, Center of Expertise (COE) partners, and colleagues across the Talent and Learning team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Strategic leadership & alignment
    • Ensure initiatives, priorities, and communications consistently reflect and advance the Talent & Learning (T&L) vision and enterprise goals.
    • Lead long-term and annual strategic planning processes, aligning T&L objectives with business priorities.
    • Maintain a clear roadmap of activities to drive consistency and track progress against outcomes.
  • Leadership engagement & facilitation
    • Partner with senior leaders to design and facilitate leadership engagements, forums, and organizational touchpoints that strengthen alignment and collaboration.
    • Serve as a representative for T&L in enterprise forums, ensuring the function’s voice and priorities are well-positioned.
  • Portfolio storytelling & communications
    • Shape and manage the T&L portfolio and narrative, ensuring employees are inspired and equipped to grow their careers at HP, while also developing strategies that enable partners (e.g., People Partners, Corporate Learning Alliance) to amplify our story and solutions.
    • Lead the strategy and execution of Talent and Learning enterprise and program specific communications.
    • Partner with internal communications and leadership to deliver compelling, consistent messaging that connects enterprise priorities to T&L solutions.
  • Operational excellence & user experience
    • Lead strategic processes and frameworks that drive efficiency, clarity, and scalability across T&L.
    • Drive consistency in how T&L measures and shares impact by enhancing metric rigor and upskilling the team—enabling more consistent and compelling impact storytelling across the function.
    • Manage the overall T&L marketing and user experience engine—e.g., Power Your Potential—ensuring platforms and channels evolve to make learning and career development simple, intuitive, and impactful for employees and managers.
    • Monitor employee and stakeholder engagement, using insights to strengthen the overall talent and learning experience.
    • Continuously simplify and enhance the user experience across the T&L portfolio.
  • Team empowerment & collaboration
    • Lead a team of three to ensure alignment, collaboration, and impact.
    • Build strong partnerships across COEs, enterprise programs, and business leaders to amplify collaboration and impact.

Team leadership and stakeholder engagement:

  • Engage directly with the Talent and Learning leadership team, including the SVP of Talent and Learning, to manage strategy, planning, and communication approach and execution.
  • Lead a team of three: Talent and Learning Planning lead, User Experience Lead, and Communications Lead.
    • Planning lead: focuses on strategy, project management, and analytics to ensure T&L meets its objectives
    • User experience lead: Monitors user experience and ensures T&L solutions are effectively positioned, integrated and adopted by different audiences.
    • Communications lead: Plans and delivers clear, consistent messaging and branding in line with the communications strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with senior People Leaders and members in the Centers of Expertise (COEs) across the function to ensure alignment with business needs, support the effective implementation of talent solutions and processes, and drive continuous improvement.
