Description
The Director, Employee Health and CME Coordinator will be responsible for Employee Health Services and training for the organization. The successful candidate will maintain the organization’s requirements to ensure compliance with State and Federal guidelines as well as serve as a liaison with the organization’s hospital and clinical partners to ensure staff is compliant with applicable hospital and clinic standards. The Director, Employee Health and CME Coordinator is responsible for employee education, counseling, tracking employee health requirements, documenting injuries, evaluating and reporting test results, and making appropriate entries into the employee’s health record. The successful candidate will monitor the documentation of pre-employment and preventive health requirements in compliance with organizational policies and procedures and will be responsible to build and implement a CME program for our clinical employees.
- Be an integral team member, collaborating with Human Resources, VP, Quality Safety and Emergency Preparedness and others as needed to advocate for employee health and safety.
- Coordinate the development and implementation of policies and procedures for pre-employment/on-boarding processes for all employees and the employee health initiatives and programs.
- Oversee the Employee Health Department ensures that all contractors and staff are in compliance with the organization’s policy and requirements.
- Provide oversight and guidance to staff to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Clarify job descriptions and hold staff accountable.
- Lead and participate in weekly EOS Level 10 meetings and attend other necessary meetings.
- Conducts ongoing performance evaluations on staff which includes, but is not limited to, annual evaluations, performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure requirements for volunteers, independent contractors and all employees are in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.
- Maintain employee health records, by preparing/establishing an Employee Health Record (EHR) for each employee, independent contractor, student learner and volunteer.
- Maintain employee health records in EHR, separate from other records, and restrict access and maintain confidentiality. Support Human Resources with employee health databases, by maintaining complete and accurate employee health records.
- Provide a workplace free from serious recognized hazards and comply with standards, rules and regulations issued under the OSHA Act.
- Examine workplace conditions to make sure they conform to applicable OSHA Standards.
- Ensure employees are equipped with tools and equipment and properly maintain this equipment.
- Establish and/or update operating procedures and communicate regularly to ensure employees follow safety and health requirements.
- Develop and implement a written hazard communication program and be responsible for the oversight of MSDS ensuring they are up to date and readily available. Train all new hires and staff on an annual basis to meet OSHA requirements.
- Participate in the new hire orientation and resident orientation.
- Establish and implement infection control and employee health orientation programs, alongside the departmental directors/managers, throughout the health center.
- Create and maintain an Injury and Illness Prevention Program.
- Responsible for complete and track all pre-employment testing and vaccination processes, tuberculosis screening, and/or vaccinations, and manage potential blood exposures, employee illnesses and disease outbreaks.
- Responsible for the oversight/administration of Hepatitis B vaccine requirements for employees working in high risk areas.
- Responsible for the administration and oversight of the influenza vaccine for all staff, residents and volunteers.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal reporting and requirements.
- Responsible for completion of all initial credentialing and privilege delineation activities in accordance with the medical staff policies, bylaws, and rules and regulations to ensure that only qualified practitioners provide care at affiliated hospitals.

NRP requirements.
