The Role

The Lumen Accounting Manager will lead a team of accountants, ensuring the accuracy of month-end reporting, performing substantial account reconciliations, and participating in process automation initiatives.

The Main Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of accountants, guiding them through the successful implementation of SAP S4 Hana and optimizing month-end close processes.
• Review existing month-end procedures and develop a forward-looking close schedule that aligns with Lumen's core values of Growth Mindset and Teamwork.
• Drive the Accounting department to enhance journal entry, reconciliation, and reporting KPIs.
• Create a comprehensive accounting guide that enables team members to quickly and effectively access SAP S4 Hana-related reports, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Provide training and development on SAP S4 Hana and other financial reporting tools to meet information requests and month-end close deadlines.
• Offer periodic support and cross-training to other accounting team members.
• Communicate effectively with senior leadership on process inconsistencies across accounting departments and foster synergies to eliminate redundant reporting and journal entries.

What We Look For in a Candidate

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
• At least 5 years of management experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in SAP S4 Hana or equivalent systems.
• Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, presentation, and delegation abilities.
• Strong multitasking skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines imposed by monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerBI, PowerPoint, Planner, and Copilot.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed, particularly during month-end close and ERP implementation and testing periods.

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

$103,711 - $138,281 in these states: AL  AR  AZ  FL  GA  IA  ID  IN  KS  KY  LA  ME  MO  MS  MT  ND  NE  NM  OH  OK  PA  SC  SD  TN  UT  VT  WI  WV  WY  
$108,896 - $145,195 in these states: CO  HI  MI  MN  NC  NH  NV  OR  RI  
$114,082 - $152,109 in these states: AK  CA  CT  DC  DE  IL  MA  MD  NJ  NY  TX  VA  WA
