A Brief Overview
This position reports directly to the Regional Director, Procedural and Ancillary Services, Flint Hills. This position plans, directs, and coordinates administrative activities of all Medical Imaging departments of the medical center and/or clinics at the Flint Hills and Manhattan campuses.

Education Qualifications

  • Graduate of a two-year AMA School of Radiologic Technology. Required

  • Bachelor's Degree Four years’ experience in post graduate work in an Advanced Modality may be substituted for bachelor's degree. Required


Experience Qualifications

  • 2 years Post graduate experience. Required

  • 1 year Supervisor experience. Preferred

  • MRI and/or CT scanning experience. Preferred


Licenses and Certifications

  • ARRT (R) required, secondary modality registry desired. Must have current Kansas license or temporary license if license is pending.


What you will do

  • Supervise daily activities of Diagnostic X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Clinic Radiology Departments or Women’s Health, Breast Care Imaging Services, for the Flint Hills and Manhattan area facilities.

  • Performance Standards. • Assigns daily work duties. • Discuss and resolve problem duties. • Observe and/or obtain reports concerning work performance, workflow, and problems that take necessary action to resolve. • Develop and maintain work schedules to obtain optimum care and treatment of the patients and the most efficient use of department personnel. • Review time sheets for the assigned personnel • Assist in the imaging departments with technical/clerical duties as necessary. • Coordinate the flow of outpatients with house patients in order to keep waiting time to a minimum and expedite patients as needed (HSD). • Works with patients, families, nurses, physicians, other healthcare providers, and other ancillary personnel. • Accepts additional assignments from Regional Director, Procedural and Ancillary Services.

  • Provide documentation for department and hospital functions and related duties. • Documents deviations from established policies and procedures and reports trends and major deviations to Director. • Assists with employee/equipment evaluations. • Insures no procedures are done without appropriate orders and diagnosis. • Ensure the scope of services and quality of services meets the regulatory organizations guidelines/parameters and maintains accreditations, including but not limited to, AASM and Joint Commission. • Obtains and maintains ACR accreditation of Mammography.

  • Contribute to maintenance of the department manuals. • Participates in the creation or revisions to the policy/procedure manual. • Enforces each policy and procedure.

  • Provide input in the hiring, firing, counseling, and disciplining within the department. • Assist Director in interviewing and selection of persons for employment or transfer in imaging departments, completion of performance reviews, and handling of employee issues related to disciplinary action. • Assists in counseling techniques for performance appraisal and counseling of problem employees. • Assists in discipline and grievance procedures and process.

  • Attendance & Punctuality • Reports to work on time and is ready for duty. • Provides adequate notice to peer personnel when sick or late for duty. • Maintains attendance in accordance with hospital policy. • Requests leave(s) of absence, when needed, in advance and in accordance with hospital policy.

  • Maintains the confidentiality of all records and information received in course of job.

  • Attends and participates in all mandatory hospital in-services when scheduled. Attends and participates in all scheduled departmental in-services. Participates in other education opportunities and is aware of current trends in field.
