Responsibilities
- Help define the program strategy and maintain accountability of program execution.
- Manage the scientific and technical aspects of multiple projects. Guide the R&D efforts of a project team, translating tasks into data science and engineering specifications and ensuring high-quality deliverables (including customer project updates, external publications and presentations, and intellectual property submissions).
- Become the expert on the science of a given project through the study of the literature and engagement of expert advisors, and position the projects within a wider context of scientific developments in precision medicine.
- Work with the Compliance and legal functions of the organization to create regulatory documentation in accordance with the implemented standards.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders regarding project status, decisions and tradeoffs, scientific dissemination, business collateral, and intellectual property considerations.
- Develop professional relationships with customers, partners, and other project stakeholders.
- Travel as needed for business meetings, training opportunities, and scientific exchanges, e.g. conferences.
Requirements
- PhD in life sciences, with cancer biology a plus.
- Experience in translational research in oncology. Knowledge and/or experience with biomarker development and oncogenic signaling pathways is highly preferred.
- Working understanding of bioinformatics and data science.
- Proven scientific innovation, e.g. articulation of new ideas and pursuit of novel initiatives, through peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations.
- Demonstrable autonomy in steering multiple research projects, leading a research program, and management of a technical team.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Project management skills, including the ability to establish a timeline, manage stakeholders, prioritize and delegate tasks, maintain clear channels of communication, and manage a disciplined process under a controlled environment (e.g. ISO 27001).
