Position Overview
The Commercial Performance Associate will play a crucial role in driving strategic decisions and maximizing business performance for AMAT. The role will conduct financial analysis, market evaluation, support performance reviews, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling are essential. You’ll contribute to key business strategies, prepare insightful reports, and identify growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and strategies.
- Evaluate market trends, pricing, and competitor activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize commercial outcomes.
- Monitor key performance indicators and recommend areas for improvement.
- Develop and maintain forecasting models to drive business insights.
- Assess business and identify growth opportunities.
- Engage with leadership to conduct analytical reviews on business performance and help derive insights.
- Maintain current pricing tools and develop new tools as needed
- Promote adoption of analytical tools to help understand impacts of price, cost, volume and mix on business performance
- Advise leaders and channel pricing overview to achieve consistent pricing and ensuring market competitive pricing
- Understand and review cost impacts to predict increases and recommend price changes based on forecasted increases/decreases
- Support reporting throughout the company as needed helping to develop automated and insightful analytics
- Provide critical data required for the development of annual strategic plans
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field
- Proven experience in pricing analysis or a similar role
- Experience creating financial models
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills (Advanced analytical abilities, such as statistical methods or quantitative modeling, to dissect pricing data, identify trends, and recommend optimal pricing structures)
- Distinctive analytical, presentation development, and communication skills (both oral and written)
- Ability to problem solve creatively
- Ability to collaborate with Sales and Finance teams and work with business unit (operating companies) leadership to drive key business insights and align on pricing plays
- Past experience working in a pricing role with a strong understanding of B2B/B2C cost structures, profit margins, and revenue implications products/materials
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years in an analytical role, preferably finance or pricing specific
- Intermediate to expert with analytic tools Excel, Tableau, Power BI (Expertise in Power BI and Tableau to create interactive dashboards to visualize pricing performance and track KPIs)
- Ability to influence others without direct management or oversight
- Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools
- Experience creating and leading multiple projec
