Job Description:
Purpose: The School of Engineering and Computer Science is looking for engaging ECS majors to serve as support staff within ECS. The Office Assistants will serve as the face of the ECS Dean's Suite, through providing excellent customer service, administrative support, and event participation and planning.
Expectations: ECS Dean's Office Assistants will support the office with administrative tasks, as well as communication with students, faculty, staff, and prospective students/parents. Specific job functions and expectations are listed below.
Requirements:
ECS Office Assistants must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA
Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor
Must be an ECS major
Must be in good standing with the University
Job responsibilities:
Project a professional image in all interactions with students, faculty, staff, and university guests. This includes using good judgment to provide accurate information and excellent customer service.
Help to answer phone calls and e-mails as needed.
Address general questions from students by referring them to the Catalog, to a specific Baylor webpage, or to another office on campus.
Assist ECS staff and faculty with various administrative tasks, including (but not limited to) filing, making copies, running errands to different offices on campus, and planning/implementing ECS events.
Organize and work independently with minimum supervision in accordance with established procedures.
Provide general office assistance and support
Maintain files and reports and ensure confidentiality of information
Assist with various projects, activities or tasks as needed
Ability to comply with University policies
Maintain regular and punctual attendance
