About Our Opportunity

Our Finance and Administration team is hiring Student Accounting Assistants. In these roles, you'll support special projects based on your coursework and areas of interest that benefit the goal of the division. 

Primary Accountabilities

 

As the Accounting Assistant, you’ll have a diverse array of responsibilities. Key tasks include:

  • Data Entry
  • File Management (use of Adobe to convert 1 large payment file into individual files using labelling conventions)
  • Filing
  • Collaborating with Team Members
  • Compiling and generating reports
  • Managing deposits and handling cash transactions securely
  • Tracking and organizing data within our database, ICM, as well as spreadsheets.

 

You'll have the opportunity to support the financial team in various capacities, along with other administrative duties as needed. This role offers a dynamic blend of tasks that will both challenge and enrich your skill set, providing valuable opportunities for learning within our department.

Qualifications and Experience

 

You are current business administration or commerce student. You must be currently enrolled as a student and returning to school in the fall (or in the next applicable semester for the education program).

 

 You must:

  • be attentive to detail, highly meticulous and proficient with spreadsheets, data entry and report writing.
  • use various computer applications including Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Adobe and Outlook.
  • have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • be able to work independently and as part of a team

Working Conditions

 

Your normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day and is in office only, fostering collaboration and accessibility among team members. Expect to engage in repetitive tasks regularly, necessitating good hand dexterity for continual phone and computer use. Maintaining a high level of visual and mental concentration is paramount to ensure accuracy and efficiency in your duties
