If so, we invite you to consider an exciting opportunity as a Senior Manager of Risk Assessments within our Retail Risk Office, supporting Retail Bank and Premium Products + Shopping divisions.
In this highly visible and strategic role, you will be at the forefront of our risk assessment program, helping to shape the way we identify and measure risks. You’ll be empowered to lead strategic change efforts within our risk assessments that span functions, stakeholders and levels of the organization, playing a critical role in how we manage risk.

Responsibilities:
Lead and empower a high performing team of risk assessment professionals
Foster a culture of risk awareness as your teams will be responsible for running a well-managed horizontal operation that is perpetually audit ready
Partner and collaborate across teams, including second line, to understand impactful changes to the risk programs
Develop and implement robust risk assessment strategies that drive efficiencies, reduce resistance, mitigate risk and ensure long-term success
Coach and guide cross-functional project teams and leaders through the change journey using a thoughtful, people-first approach
Design and deliver compelling communications and strategies that inform and prepare associates for risk assessment based change
Key Skills/Experience:
Strong risk management analytical and problem solving skills
Experience with leading risk assessments, such as Risk and Control Self Assessment (RCSA)
Exceptional communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills, which are critical for building trust and influence across all levels of the organization
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Be intellectually curious to ask why, explore underlying issues, and create unique solutions to challenges. Seek to understand why problems exist and how to solve them in a fast paced, live operation environment
Collaborative leader who thrives on working with diverse groups to achieve shared goals
Proven success leading changes/enhancements to risk programs that impact an organization
Basic Qualifications:
At least 5 years of Risk Management or Project Management experience
At least 4 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients
At least 3 Years of People Management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
7+ years of Project or Risk Management experience
5+ years of experience in Training or Change Management Leadership Role
5+ years of People Management experience
Certified in Risk Management Frameworks, LEAN Management or Six Sigma

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $177,700 - $202,800 for Sr. Risk Manager
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount off
