What You Will Contribute To Altos
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Director / Chief of Administration to join Altos Labs. The position requires advanced organizational, operational, and leadership skills. Duties and tasks are complex where considerable judgment, independent action, influence, and a high degree of initiative are autonomy are required.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Bay Area Institute of Science (BAIS)
- Provide senior-level advising, project leadership, execution, and facilitation, and be a key cross-functional collaborator
- Participate and contribute to the development, execution, and achievement of the Bay Area Institute of Science’s overall strategic plan and growth strategy in partnership with the Institute Director, Principal Investigators, and Functional Leads
- Able to influence others, adapt quickly, think creatively, and work efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Collaborate across multiple internal functions including prioritization of internal and external activities based on impact and strategic goals
- Key partner to Corporate Groups, helping to facilitate cross-initiatives and communications
- Create processes, and execute business operations tasks including reviewing financials, budget (operating expenses and capital), and workforce plans in partnership with the Finance and People teams, for the Institute Director’s lab, as well as the overall Bay Area Institute of Science
- Coordinate organizational procedures for optimized efficiency and productivity as well as streamline collaboration across team members
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with senior leaders in a professional manner
- Interact and build key relationships with business leaders across the organization
- Lead, oversee, and/or manage critical projects as well as communicate project status to stakeholders and key project participants
- Be a culture catalyst- guiding implementation of our Altos Value and behaviors within BAIS.
- Able to maintain unambiguous accountability for the on-time delivery of commitments
- Lead the development and effective execution of BAIS Principal Investigator meeting agendas and ensure a positive and productive experience for the PI team
- Ensure appropriate guest speakers are invited and engaged with the PI team
- In partnership with the Institute Director, prepares and may present relevant site data by communicating accurate, succinct summaries at PI meetings
- Identifying and recommending the internal and/or external resources required for the timely completion of projects
- May lead employee institute-specific onboarding, employee experience, and events at the Bay Area Institute of Science
- Manages communication flows across the various labs and across Altos as directed by the Institute Director
- Manages external speakers, and Institute events and seminars
- Develops and manages the Bay Area Institute of Science’s Administrative team
