Job Summary

Summary
Following established policies, procedures, and study protocols, provides assistance on clinical research studies, including recruiting, evaluating, and consenting patients for studies; collecting and organizing patient data; scheduling patients for study visits; performing clinical tests such as phlebotomy, EKGs, EEGs, etc.; maintaining and updating data generated by the study. Additionally, it provides input into determining study subject suitability and input into recruitment strategy. Performs data analysis, interpretation, QA/QC, and assists in completing reports and presentations.

Essential Functions
-Assists with determining the suitability of study subjects and acts as a resource for patients and families.
-Has input into recruitment strategies and may contribute to protocol recommendations.
-Administers scores and evaluates study questionnaires. <br>
-Maintains research data, patient files, regulatory binders, and study databases.
-Performs data analysis and QA/QC checks and organizes and interprets data.
-Assists with preparation for annual review and assists PI in completing study reports and presentations.
-May assist with training and orientation of new staff members.

Bachelor's Degree Science required

The Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Emergency Medicine's division of clinical research is seeking a highly motivated individual with a minimum of one year hands-on clinical research experience to assist with ongoing and future clinical research studies as Clinical Research Coordinator II.

Through participation in a variety of federally funded and industry sponsored clinical research studies and trials, our division aims to find new and effective treatments for injuries and illnesses such as trauma, infections, sepsis, stroke, behavioral health intervention, suicide prevention, device studies and others. The incumbent will work with a dynamic team of investigators and research staff to coordinate multiple studies performed in the emergency department at MGH.

Experience with developing REDCap projects, Epic EMR, IRB submissions (MGB Insight platform is preferred), and in person participant recruitment will be required and will be discussed during the interview.

A medical degree will be valuable (e.g., international medical graduate).

Some overnight shifts may be required based on study protocols, and weekend coverage will be needed about once a month.
