The Global Category Manager Production Equipment (m/f/diverse) is responsible to define, implement and adapt global and regional sourcing strategies for Production Equipment, considering the needs of the internal business partners.
Your new responsibilities:
Leadership tasks:
- Leading the Category Management Team for Production Equipment disciplinary and/or functionally
- Create an environment oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort
- Ensure deliverables are prepared to satisfy the internal customers in the sense of project requirements, cost and schedule
Category Management tasks:
- Sourcing project and contract management for all production equipment initiatives cooperating with the regional procurement organizations and ensuring the worldwide PE Team is carrying out cost and contract negotiations leading to an agreement being signed
- Representing the Production Equipment Category in all kinds of Vitesco internal teams, meetings and councils
- Evaluation, comparison and selection of strategic suppliers under various criteria, as well as identification of alternative suppliers
- Evaluation of risk controlling results for existing and potential new suppliers as well as supporting insolvency management
- Conduct supplier audits
- Support in urgent customer projects and participation in escalation process (internal or external)
Your qualification:
- Academic degree in Economics, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or comparable
- Professional experience within Category Purchasing of Indirect Materials or Industrial Engineering
- Profound knowledge in contract law, preferrable in the field of capital investments
- Independent, structured, and analytical way of working
- Business fluent English (written and spoken); business fluent German (written and spoken) preferable
- Willingness to travel to ww teams, VT locations and suppliers
- Intercultural competences and experiences
