About the role

The SPLC is seeking a Digital Fundraising Manager who is passionate about racial and social justice! 

The Manager, Digital Fundraising is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Email and SMS fundraising team, overseeing campaign planning, execution, and campaign performance. The manager serves as the organization’s subject matter expert in Engaging Networks and Hustle and work cross-functionally to embed email and SMS into broader digital, advocacy, and fundraising strategies. Working cross-functionally, this role helps translate strategic priorities into results-driven digital fundraising campaigns.

Who You Are

Experienced. Demonstrated end‑to‑end digital fundraising expertise across email, SMS, and social fundraising, with experience managing online contribution platforms and a proven track record of growing online revenue, donor counts, and average gift size through testing and optimization.

Messaging Strategist. Crafts compelling, conversion‑driven fundraising messages informed by a strong understanding of donor psychology, urgency, and emotional resonance, and adapts tone and framing effectively for different audiences and donation contexts.

Results Focused. Demonstrates full ownership of online fundraising goals and performance, making decisions grounded in revenue impact, donor experience, and long‑term growth, while remaining comfortable and accountable for metrics and outcomes.

Data-Driven. Uses performance data to actively inform strategy, embraces testing and experimentation for continuous improvement, and exercises sound judgment in knowing when to rely on quantitative insights and when qualitative context is equally important.

Project Manager. Effectively manages multiple campaigns, deadlines, and approval processes simultaneously by prioritizing work in high‑volume, fast‑moving environments and keeping stakeholders aligned to move projects forward without bottlenecks.

What You'll Do

Oversee integrated campaign calendars, revenue forecasting, performance optimization, and the execution of data-driven campaigns that respond to breaking news, program priorities, and urgent moments.

Directly manage and mentor the email marketing team, providing strategic guidance, coaching, goal-setting, and ensuring operational excellence.

Serve as the internal expert on email and SMS platforms, including audience segmentation, automation, deliverability, compliance, and donation/action page optimization within Engaging Networks.

Develop and manage testing roadmaps (A/B, multivariate, longitudinal), analyze campaign performance, maintain KPIs and dashboards, and continuously improve supporter experience and fundraising outcomes.

Partner programmatic and operational teams to align messaging, list growth acquisition strategies, and ensure campaigns are mission-aligned and supporter-centered.

Oversee campaign QA, production workflows, copy, accessibility, brand consistency, and other duties in support of SPLC’s fundraising and organizational goals.

Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience demonstrated success leading digital fundraising programs;
  • Minimum of two (2) years of proven people management experience; and
  • High School Diploma or GED.

Compensation & Benefits

This is a non-exempt role and the minimum starting salary is $112,286 annually. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Where & How You'll Work 

This role has the following work designations options:

  • Local Remote: Will work remotely but is expected to attend work-related activities that occur at the SPLC offices or in the states in which the SPLC operates.
  • Telework: Will work at an SPLC office at least three days per week and may work two days per week from an alternative work location.
  • This position will report to the Deputy Director, Digital Fundraising and Advertising.
