ABOUT THE ROLE:

The points below highlight the Director Area Sales duties:

  • Manages, coaches, and develops a transactional sales team, including inside and outside sales
  • Manages Sales Coordinator in processing quotes, documents, implementation etc. of
    transactional sales
  • Assists in recruiting and developing future sales candidates
  • Creates quality reporting to show sales penetration by market segment and territory
  • Trains sales team to sell in a multi-modal environment
  • Oversees commercial P&L responsibilities
  • Coordinates with marketing plan including brand recognition and expansion, internet sales penetration, print material, coop marketing with manufactures, and sales plan execution
  • Oversees negotiation and management of sales agreements
  • Travels as needed
  • Other Duties as required and assigned

 

Experience

  • Minimum 4 years experience in Sales - multimodal transportation
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Sales Management
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to develop close customer relationships

 

Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The incumbent is regularly exposed to ambient lighting and temperate climate conditions.
