This position can work from Johnston, IA, or Moline, IL. 

Your Responsibilities

 

As a Financial Reporting Accountant for Deere & Company World Headquarters located in Moline, IL, you will...

 

  • Function as the External Reporting contact for multiple US & Canada Deere units, prepare monthly consolidations journal entries, and review monthly unit financial submissions to ensure accurate and timely reporting of actual and forecasted financial results.
  • Prepare management reporting for actual and forecasted worldwide consolidated financial results, and provide support used in Deere’s quarterly and annual external filing disclosures (10-Q/K).
  • Identify process improvements and lead/coordinate teams to implement.
  • Complete various financial analysis and special projects.
  • Assist the External Reporting team in preparing for the successful conversion to Central Finance (CFIN).

What Skills You Need

 

  • 3 or more years of experience in financial accounting assignments
  • High level of attention to detail with strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly and concisely communicate to internal and external stakeholders
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and key financial ratios
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with general ledger accounting and activities
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative related to topics or in settings that may be unfamiliar
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a team environment

What Makes You Stand Out

 

  • Proven proficiency and experience with other Microsoft Office or automation tools
  • Experience with accounting systems and policies, ideally including the processes that have been followed at John Deere
  • Experience preparing, analyzing, and enhancing financial reports
  • Experience with financial reporting systems
  • Understanding of the integrated systems of internal control
  • Experience managing projects of low to medium complexity

Education

 

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
