SummaryThe Senior Financial Analyst will provide support to Service Line leadership in monthly financial review and analysis, in planning the annual budgets and quarterly forecasts and in sales performance tracking, pricing analysis, KPI/operating metric reporting, and ad-hoc analyses. The successful Senior Financial Analyst will be recognized as a financial advisor and valued contributor to business leadership by providing analysis related to profitability, investment decisions financial trends, and in helping to resolve business issues. Fundamental projects in this role include the development and management of budgeting and forecasting utilizing our ERP, Workday, Adaptive Planning and other analytical tools and approaches. The Senior Financial Analyst should have strong modeling skills, the ability to interrogate data in helping to address operating questions and an ability to apply shareholder value methodologies (e.g. DCF, IRR, Cash Payback, etc) in evaluating business decisions.  

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare the monthly and quarterly financial materials to support the Monthly Performance reviews.
  • Provide variance explanations and analysis of Revenue and Costs to understand the Gross Margin trends and drivers. Work with the leaders to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Use financial data to provide insights into the historical trends related to customer performance.
  • Apply data interrogation and system analytics (ERP and operational systems) to identify the underlying causes of business problems and to help support service line improvement actions.
  • Understand the pricing environment for the service lines that are being supported and the unit economic framework underlying those pricing decisions.
  • Develop pricing, compensation, and expense models (including documentation of underlying assumptions and deliverables) that ensure profitability of investment business cases, applying Shareholder value metrics (DCF, IRR Cash Payback) to the modeled cash projections.
  • Develop and improve specific financial reports (Workday and Adaptive) and create dashboards for Service Lines, squads, customers, and operations to measure key drivers and results.
  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and projections using Adaptive Planning in collaboration with the business areas.
  • Conducts sound assessments of business drivers with their effects on financial performance, creates financial models/analyses and analyzes key drivers of business problems. Works with operational leadership to formulate potential solutions and to track implementation of solutions to ensure accountability and measure success.
  • Performs market, customer, competitor, cost and risk analysis on projects and programs as requested.
  • Provides support on presentations, ad-hoc analysis, and other strategic initiatives as requested.
  • Develops a high degree of business functional knowledge.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Competencies

  • At least 5-7 years of Corporate Finance analyst experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance required, CPA or MBA a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and possess a strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Advanced Excel and Financial systems skills
  • Understanding of financial reporting processes and basic accounting knowledge
  • Willingness to accept ownership, responsibility, and accountability
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management
  • Able to consistently meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Workday Financial systems and Adaptive Planning
