About the role

Account Executive Higher Education Analytics

Who We Are:
HelioCampus was founded with the purpose of helping college & university leaders navigate today’s growing pressures. As one of EdTech’s most steadily growing companies, our roots in higher ed ground us in the critical nature of this work.

What We Do:
We help our clients navigate today’s high stakes with data and Institutional Performance Management practices. Together with our clients, we chart a path to sustainability by borrowing practices from the most successful businesses.

How We Do It:
We approach our work with a “we’re on it” attitude that the higher ed community has come to know and expect from our team. We’re data geeks to our core, committed to simplifying the toughest challenges and operating with transparency. Our most successful team members are change agents who love a challenge.

How You'll Help:
The Account Executive will own the full sales cycle — from prospecting and qualification through negotiation and close — with colleges, universities, and related higher education organizations. This role requires consultative selling, the ability to engage multiple personas, and comfort selling value and ROI for a product in an emerging category where traditional buying frameworks or budgets may not yet exist.

You’ll collaborate closely with marketing, product, and customer success teams to create compelling value stories and drive adoption across target institutions.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to close, achieving and exceeding quarterly and annual revenue goals.
  • Engage with multiple decision-makers and influencers, including institutional research leaders, CIOs, provosts, enrollment management, and finance executives.
  • Develop a deep understanding of institutional challenges and position our analytics solutions in terms of business value, ROI, and mission alignment.
  • Educate prospects on the emerging value of analytics, data governance and AI-enabled decision support in higher education — helping to define the category as much as sell within it.
  • Partner with marketing and product teams to refine messaging, market positioning, and enablement materials.
  • Lead solution demos and presentations tailored to different stakeholder needs.
  • Manage pipeline, forecasting, and CRM hygiene with discipline and accuracy.
  • Contribute feedback and insights from the field to inform go-to-market strategy and product development.

You Will Be a Good Fit For This Role If You Have:

  • 3–5+ years of experience in a quota-carrying B2B sales role.
  • Experience selling into higher education, government, or nonprofit institutions.
  • Familiarity with analytics, data platforms, or SaaS-based technology.
  • Proven success selling technology solutions and/or professional services to public-sector or mission-driven organizations.
  • Comfort leveraging modern sales technologies (CRM, automation tools, AI powered sales assistant).
  • Experience engaging multiple buyer personas and navigating complex, consensus-driven sales cycles.
  • Strong ability to sell business value and ROI, not just features.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills, especially via video conferencing.
  • Ability to thrive in a lean but collaborative go-to-market team as a self-starter.
  • A naturally curious, forward-thinking mindset with a strong interest in AI and emerging technologies.

Nice To Have’s Include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Understanding of the higher education decision-making and procurement process.
  • Experience selling to the following personas in higher education (Academic Leadership/Provost Office, IT Leadership, Institutional Research, Finance, and/or Assessment Coordinators).
  • Experience working in a collaborative and consultative selling process, partnering closely with marketing and client success.
