 Arizona Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our network in Tucson, AZ! Our practice has been providing patients with unparalleled care and exceptional oral surgery experiences for over 50 years. We are a team of four oral surgery experts who are devoted to improving the lives of others in the Tucson, Oro Valley, and Sahuarita communities.  An Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing incoming payments, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, and maintaining up-to-date records of accounts. They work closely with customers and internal teams to resolve billing issues and support efficient cash flow management. 


  • Verify dental insurance eligibility and benefits prior to patient appointments 
  • Accurately process and submit dental insurance claims using appropriate ADA codes
  • Monitor and manage aging reports, outstanding balances, and follow-up on unpaid or denied insurance claims 
  • Contact insurance companies to resolve claim disputes and clarify coverage details 
  • Communicate with patients regarding account balances, payment plans, and insurance coverage issues 
  • Research and resolve insurance billing discrepancies and appeals in a timely and professional manner 
  • Document all insurance and patient account activity clearly and accurately in the practice management system 
  • Maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers and third-party payers 
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and protect patient confidentiality at all times 

Requirements

  • Prior experience in dental billing/accounts receivable required 
  • Strong knowledge of dental insurance, billing procedures, and ADA coding 
  • Proficiency with dental practice management software and basic computer functions 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a professional demeanor 
  • Creative problem-solving and negotiation skills 
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail 
  • Ability to multitask and work independently without constant supervision 
  • Demonstrated success in working with patients, insurance companies, and internal teams 
  • Basic math proficiency and ability to manage financial documentation accurately 
  • Flexibility to support other office areas as needed
