What you do:
The Chief of Staff (CoS) - COO position reports to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and partners closely with the COO and business unit key leaders on specific projects and day-to-day functionality of running the business unit. Manage commitments and promises to/from our clients, outside business partners, Allianz SE, and teams across Allianz Life. The CoS serves as a change agent to work on behalf of and in coordination with the COO to lead the business unit effectively and efficiently. This position provides strategic guidance supporting the execution of business unit strategy, targets and goals while also ensuring operational support and excellence. This position requires a reasonable understanding of the key support areas and how significant issues will impact and affect the business unit.
- Partnership: Work with the COO senior leadership in managing the day-to-day running of the business. Partnership with and help to align on projects, initiatives, and business priorities. Will act as a resource to executive and senior management, recommending solutions and facilitating decision-making that supports the strategic direction of the Division. Responsible to develop timelines, clear conditions of satisfaction, maintain communication and meet business unit's targeted deadlines.
- Strategic Planning: Leads key strategic initiatives. As a member of the business unit leadership team, will help drive strategic direction of the business unit and related improvement opportunities. Will drive business initiatives and connectivity with ELG, SLG and our various business partners.
- Communications: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. This means being able to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively to various stakeholders, including executives, team members, and external partners.
- Build relationships and collaborate: Build relationships and collaborate with key leaders at Allianz Life, Allianz SE, and with external parties to effectively understand strategies, problem solve and drive results. Deploy external relationship building strategies to build mutually beneficial relationships and engage key stakeholders. Determine the best course of action and prioritize executive meetings, inquiries, and requests.
What you bring:
- 8+ years of experience required in Financial Services or related field. At least 5-year experience working on and driving highly visible, highly impactful cross-functional projects.
- Four-year degree required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to work well under pressure, gain trust, and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in preparing written presentations for an executive-level audience.
- You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require immigration sponsorship for visa status now or in the future (e.g. H1-B, L-1, TN, etc). If you are currently on CPT/OPT, you are ineligible due to the need for future immigration sponsorship.
