Job Overview
We are currently looking for a Facilities Project Manager to join our team in Holland.
As a Facilities Project Manager, you will:
Coordinates and leads major facility projects and teams to develop, design, and implement new construction, renovations, and modifications of leased and owned sites; utility and support system upgrades; and building code compliance. Areas of expertise include, but not limited to, design and engineering of facilities and related electrical and mechanical systems, construction/renovation and equipment procurement, construction methods and techniques, maintenance, and operations.
Some of the responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Serves as Program Leader and Project Manager for projects of strategic importance and/or international scope:
- Leads planning and formulation of design alternatives and solutions for projects; provides conceptual estimates, feasibility studies, and cost estimates; and may coordinate production of basic design plans and construction documents to ensure project scope and expectations are achieved.
- Leads, mentors, and provides guidance and direction to lower-level Project Managers and project team members.
- Develops and manages project budgets and fiscal controls, contracts, and quality control provisions; performs project cost estimating and value engineering, as appropriate, to ensure project scope and budget expectations are achieved.
- Oversees all aspects of day-to-day management of assigned projects; monitors and coordinates work performed by real estate brokers/agents, architectural firms, engineering firms, construction firms, and installations to facilitate and lead team in problem and issue resolution.
- Manages project bidding process, ensuring competitive bids and achieving best cost/quality for project.
- Reviews and interprets proposed designs, architectural drawings, and building specifications for appropriateness to required function and/or institutional standard; initiates revisions where appropriate. Advises consultants and clients as how best to achieve desired results.
- Authorizes issuance of contracts, purchase orders, and change orders; approves contractor invoices for payment.
- Directs work sequencing to expedite project delivery and minimize disruption of ongoing institutional operations, including creating effective project plans and
- timelines, controlling construction risk and scheduling procedures, and communicating project plan to appropriate people, both inside and outside company.
- In conjunction with Facilities leadership, conducts site searches for new facilities and negotiates leases and/or purchase agreements and other documents related to lease of purchase of new facilities to support business objectives and strategic needs.
Do you have these required qualifications?
- Bachelor’s degree in real estate, architecture, engineering, construction management, or related disciplines or equivalent
- Registered professional license (i.e., Professional Engineer [PE] license or American Institute of Architects [AIA] designation) preferred.
- Six years experience with facilities design, engineering, and/or construction methods and procedures, including experience working with various project delivery methods (low-bid, Gross Maximum Price [GMP]/construction at risk, or Integrated Project Delivery [IPD]).
