Faculty, Nursing Clinical Coordinator

Job Description Summary:

The Clinical Faculty Coordinator (CFC) is responsible for overseeing all nursing clinical sites (ADN and RN-BSN) in collaboration with, and under the direction of, the Professional Nursing Department Chair (DC). The CFC monitors and evaluates clinical sites and student learning experiences to ensure quality and compliance with program standards. This position starts in January 2026.

Job Description:

The Professional Nursing Department is designed to prepare entry level Nursing Students in with the knowledge and skills to achieve the standards to become a Registered Nurse.

Principal Responsibilities and Duties

  • Coordinate with DC and assistant DC to identify, monitor, schedule and evaluate all clinical faculty 

  • Visit all clinical sites and meet with partner nurses and educators during each 16-week and 8 week semester courses, to support a relevant and comprehensive student learning experience.

  • Collaborate with course faculty to ensure clinical experiences are aligned with course and program outcomes/goals.

  • Confirm with the individual responsible for clinical compliance that all required faculty and student verifications and documentation have been completed by the designated deadline.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving clinical personnel issues that may arise between clinical site staff, faculty, and students.

  • Coordinate orientation, training, and professional development for clinical faculty related to their assigned clinical sites and corresponding nursing coursework.

  • Serve as a faculty mentor to support new faculty in clinical teaching activities, including but not limited to: understanding the role of a clinical instructor, applying the grading system, facilitating pre- and post-clinical conferences, addressing challenging student situations, completing student evaluation forms, navigating the course management site, and meeting electronic charting requirements.

  • Provide input into the evaluation process of all clinical faculty/preceptors. Ensure all evaluations for clinical agencies are completed and all reports are provided as needed.

  • Serve as the Austin Community College Nursing point of contact for the Central Texas Healthcare Partnership (CTHP) and the Centralized Clinical Scheduling Coordinators. 

  • Maintain the clinical scheduling program in the assigned software, ensuring all relevant content is accurate and kept up to date.
