Job Description
AECOM has an immediate opportunity for a Rail Systems Integration Manager located in Riverdale, MD. The Systems Integration manager, with limited supervision, is responsible for the complex technical work to document and track the integration and interface design, construction, and acceptance testing of vehicles, systems, and facilities to meet defined design, operations, and maintenance criteria, including good engineering practices that comply with the project design documents, federal, state and industry regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
The Systems Integration duties relate to numerous systems and facilities functional requirements incorporated into designs including plans and specifications for material and equipment as well as related interface and integration requirements for:
- Vehicles
- Train Control
- Traction Power Substations
- Catenary and/or third rail as applicable
- Communications
- Control and Monitoring
- Fire and Security
- Fare System
- Corrosion Control and Grounding
- Facilities mechanical & Electrical
- Outside Agencies
- Monitors and reports information for:
- Contract Compliance
- Schedule performance
- Contractor invoices
- Requirements that are documented and traced through testing and commissioning.
- Verification that submittals are completed, as required and comments are properly addressed
- Reviews system-to-system and system-to-facilities construction work plans
- Leads the coordination and resolution of all interface construction plans
- Leads the coordination of systems testing plans with safety certification
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- BS or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education {minimum of 8 years of related experience with 5 years of experience in Transit (light rail/heavy rail/commuter rail) systems design and/or integration, light rail vehicles, construction, operations and/or maintenance}.
Preferred:
- Systems Interface and Systems Integration experience in the Railway Sector
- Competent and experienced working with mechanical, electrical, and software components in complex electromechanical systems
- Experience in supervision and knowledge understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle, including verification & validation, systems architecture, requirements management, configuration management, interface management, and change control.
- Experience in conducting, witnessing, and reviewing testing and commissioning plans, test procedures, and site acceptance testing.
- Experience managing a team of mid-level or junior-level engineers and/or third-party engineering contractors.
Additional Information
The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position typically is $110,000 tor $180,000.
