Salary range is $34.13/hour to $74.51/hour, with a midpoint of $54.33/hour. New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint, however, we may go slightly higher based on experience, internal equity and market.

GENERAL PURPOSE:
Under general direction, supervises, assigns, and coordinates the daily maintenance functions and activities; ensures adherence to safety rules and procedures; resolves maintenance issues; investigates accidents; inspects systems equipment; trains and/or re-certifies staff; ensures work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures; and performs the more technical and complex maintenance tasks on the Tacoma Link System.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Plans, directs, coordinates, and reviews the work of assigned staff; assigns work activities and coordinates schedules, projects, and programs; provides constructive feedback; reviews and evaluates work and makes effective suggestions and recommendations.
- Coaches, trains, and motivates staff; coordinates and/or provides staff training; manages the workflow and prioritization of projects and measures the performance of the division and all related staff and may take appropriate corrective action or recommends corrective action when necessary; provides advice and counsel to staff; provides input and/or recommends corrective actions, discipline, and termination procedures as appropriate/necessary.
- Supervises and directs the daily preventative maintenance; prepares, supervises, and directs the preparation of light rail vehicle (LRV) fleet of light rail trains for daily operations; supervises, directs, and performs maintenance on all systems including 3-phase inverters, battery chargers, CCTV system, high speed circuit breakers, doors, brakes, body and fenders, light and warning systems, bridgeplates, propulsion systems, hydraulics, and locomotion.
- Supervises, directs, and performs right-of-way preventative maintenance of track and switch maintenance on track switches; lubricates and adjusts spring switches, correspondence signals, station CCTV and lighting, glassware, performs snow blowing as needed, removes graffiti, and adjust lighting of substations warning devices.
- Supervises, directs, or performs corrective maintenance and troubleshooting on any and all systems pertaining to the SKODA light rail vehicles, traction power substations, and overhead catenary system.
- Supervises, directs, or performs fabrication of tools, parts, components, and systems for LRV, TPSS, OCS, right-of-way (ROW), TWC, LRV signals, signage, safety equipment, security and fire alarm equipment, and maintenance equipment on an as needed basis.
