Systems Engineer Intern, Summer 2024

Skyryse is developing FlightOS, the world's first universal flight deck and operating system. FlightOS unlocks safer, more capable, and easier to fly aircraft (eVTOLs, helicopters, fixed-wings, etc.). Our mission at Skyryse is to make air transportation as safe as the elevator and as accessible as the car.

This is a full-time (40 hours / week) internship based in our El Segundo office. As an Engineering Intern on our Systems Engineering Team, you will work on the development of certifiable flight automation technologies and cost-efficient processes for the new Urban Commercial Aviation industry. 

The Summer Intern Program will run for 12 weeks starting in May / June depending on your academic calendar.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with defining system requirements, performing system integration, developing system test cases and procedures, and reviewing test reports and artifacts
• Coordinate the architecture and development of the systems/ subsystems for a certifiable autonomous flight control system
• Perform system integration, verification and validation, and analysis of total systems
• Develop detailed system design including defining system and state logic, as well as designing safety monitors and algorithms
• Support documentation for design, analysis, and specifications
• Work with the multifunctional teams to implement the architecture strategy
• Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Currently enrolled in a university pursuing your BS, MS in an engineering discipline (Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering)
• Graduating between December 2024 & June 2026
• Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• PhD Student studying Systems, Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
• Prior internship experience in aviation a bonus
